TUESDAY DOUBLE FOR ONE WORLD

26 June 2024

Drakenstein Stud’s record breaking sire One World had a double at Hollywoobets Kenilworth on Tuesday. Not only did One World’s daughter Worldcraft win the first race on Tuesday, but the G1 Sun Met winning stallion’s son One Liner became his sire’s 24th individual first-crop two-year-old winner when he won the second race at Kenilworth.

In addition, another son of One World, Please Be True, caught the eye when finishing a creditable fourth when making his debut on Tuesday.

Promising filly Worldcraft made it two wins from just three starts when she won Tuesday’s Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Welcomes You Juvenile Plate over 1100 metres.

Trained, like her sire, by Vaughan Marshall, Worldcraft stormed home, under Ashton Arries, to score a shade cosily by a length.

Worldcraft, who was bred by Klawervlei Stud, had finished fourth on debut before winning her only other start.

The filly is out of the Kahal mare Witchcraft.

One World has yet another promising first-crop two-year-old in the form of One Liner. The latter made the perfect start to his career when he made a winning debut at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Tuesday.

Under Craig Zackey, One Liner put his head down to prevail in a thrilling finish to the Cape Racing Sales Maiden Plate (1000m) for Harold Crawford and Michelle Rix.

Bred by Varsfontein Stud, One Liner is out of the Judpot mare Rocamadour.
South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire and Leading Sire of 2YOs for 2023-2024, One World holds the record for the most number of individual two-year-old winners for a South African first season sire. His flagbearers thus far include G3 City Of Cape Town Cape Of Good Hope Nursery/G3 Winter Nursery winner One Stripe, Listed Somerset 1200 winner Lion Rampart and G3 Langerman runner up All Out For Six.

The champion son of champion sire Captain Al has 12 lots on offer at the upcoming KZN Yearling Sale.
