Trained by Kumaran Naidoo, the Millstream Farm bred Vihaan’s Pie romped home to record a 5.2 length win over 1400 metres, at just the second time of asking.
Vihaan’s Pie, second on her only previous start, was produced by the Trippi mare Yellow Card.
Her sire Futura, South Africa’s Horse Of The Year in 2014-2015, has made a very promising start to his stud career, with the son of Dynasty’s other first crop representatives including debut winner, and feature race contender, Jasmine and G2 World Sports Betting SA Nursery third Nourbese.
To date, Futura (who himself) has had eight members of his first crop win or finish in the money.
The champion, whose sire Dynasty is also responsible for this year’s Vodacom Durban July hopes Bunker Hunt and Belgarion, has nine lots on offer at this year’s Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, including a half-brother (Lot 215) to the very smart Dancing Queen, a colt (Lot 256) out of G1 Empress Club Stakes winner Little Miss Magic, and a colt (Lot 436) out of G2 The Debutante winner Tempted.
