Drakenstein Stud’s very promising young Dynasty sire Futura looks to have come up with yet another smart member of his first crop in the form of unbeaten filly Fantastical.
The latter made it two wins from two starts when recording a fluent win at the Vaal on Tuesday afternoon for trainer Alec Laird and jockey S’Manga Khumalo.
A facile, three length winner on debut, Fantastical maintained her unbeaten record when scoring by two lengths over 1600m, and she looks a smart prospect.
Bred by R D Forsythe-Thompson, Fantastical is out of the Silvano mare Magic Penny.
Fantastical is but one of a number of talented prospects to have emerged from Horse Of The Year Futura’s sparkling crop. This crop also includes G2 Durban Golden Horse winner, and G1 Premiers Champion Stakes runner up, Nourbese, dual stakes winning filly Dindingwe, and Jasmine -third in last season’s G2 Zulu Kingdom Explorer Golden Slipper.
A four time G1 winning son of outstanding sire Dynasty, Futura has three lots on offer at the upcoming CTS Ready To Run, Unbroken 2 Year Old & Mixed Sale.
