Drakenstein Stud’s four time G1 winning sire Futura has had another fine week, and the former Horse Of The Year came up with two more impressive winners at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Wednesday afternoon.
His exciting three-year-old son Le Morne made it three wins from three starts when justifying tote favouritism in Wednesday’s seventh race, the Hollywoodbets Grooms Initiative MR 74 Handicap (1400m).
Under an inform Louix Mxothwa, the Brett Crawford trained Le Morne was given a confident ride which saw the Futura colt blast home to beat older rival Tizona by nearly half a length, while conceding the runner up weight.
