Drakenstein Stud’s outstanding young stallion One World made waves, once again, at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Sunday.
His son All Out For Six, a member of One World’s record breaking first crop, picked up a big prize when he won the HSH Princess Charlene Big Cap (1400m) in eye catching fashion.
Under an aggressive ride from Grant Van Niekerk, the three-year-old powered home to salute by a length and three quarters.
Unfortunately, One World’s star son, and dual G1 winner, One Stripe (who had beaten All Out For Six into second in the Cape Punters Cup), suffered a rough trip in Sunday’s race and dropped out of contention close home.
Trained, like both One World and One Stripe, by Vaughan Marshall, All Out For Six has won three of 10 starts, with his earnings now standing at a handsome R3 403799.
The colt had shown considerable promise at both two and three, with All Out For Six finishing runner up in both last season’s G3 Langerman and this season’s G2 Cape Punters Cup.
Bred by Drakenstein Stud, All Out For Six is out of the Trippi mare Howl.
All Out For Six is one of ten black-type horses to have emerged, thus far, from One World’s stellar crop. One World has also gotten off to a fine start with his second crop headed, thus far, by the promising two-year-old Dreamworld. The latter followed up an impressive, winning debut by finishing second in Sunday’s R1 500 000 Cape Racing Sales Cape Slipper, and Dreamworld is a colt with a very bright future ahead of him.
Champion One World has some exceptionally well-bred lots on offer at the National Yearling Sale. His National draft includes a three-parts sister (Lot 104) to G3 Kenilworth Fillies Nursery winner Cousin Liz, a half-brother (Lot 292) to dual graded stakes winner Just Reckless, and a colt (Lot 314) out of a three-parts sister to the top-class Future Swing.
