Drakenstein Stud’s sensational young sire One World moved closer to the record of most juvenile winners for a South African sire in a single season when his first-crop son Move To Prove won at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday afternoon.

In landing Wednesday’s Download The Race Card Online www.goldcircle.co.za Maiden Handicap (1400m), Move To Prove became One World’s 25th individual first crop winner.

Under Muzi Yeni, the Frank Robinson-trained colt stayed on gamely to shed his maiden by a neck when winning on Wednesday. The colt, making his fourth career start, had finished third last time out.

Bred by Cheveley Stud, Move To Prove was a R190 000 buy from the 2023 KZN Yearling Sale.

Move To Prove was his sire’s sole runner at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday. Still, the red hot Drakenstein resident had had a double at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth one day earlier, where his daughter Worldcraft won the first race and son One Liner claimed the second race.

Equus Champion Older Male of 2019-2020, One World has made a stunning start to his stud career and has already been responsible for five horses who have either won or been placed in stakes races.

To date, One World’s flagbearers have been G3 City Of Cape Town Cape Of Good Hope Nursery/G3 Winter Nursery hero One Stripe, Listed Somerset 1200 1-2 finishers Lion Rampart and Miss World, and G3 Langerman runner up All Out For Six.

His 12 lots on offer at the KZN Yearling Sale include a filly (Lot 65) out of Listed Winter Oaks winner Duchess Of Bourbon, a colt (Lot 158) closely related to the Captain Al sired G3 Kenilworth Fillies Nursery winner Cousin Liz, and a colt (Lot 162) whose dam is a daughter of superstar racehorse and sire Frankel.
